C.I.G.A. (Coucil of Irish Guiding Associations)
In July 1993, at the 28th World Conference in Denmark the Council of Irish Guiding Associations was ratified as a full member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and was recognised as continuing the full membership gained by the Irish Girl Guides in 1932. The Council consists of the Irish Girl Guides and the Catholic Guides of Ireland on behalf of their members resident in the Republic of Ireland.
The aims and objectives of CIGA are:
- To enable membership of WAGGGS to be held by the Irish Girl Guides and the Catholic Guides of Ireland on behalf of their members resident in the Republic of Ireland
- To promote and further the objectives of the World Association as expressed in Article III of the Constitution and Bye-Laws of WAGGGS
- To encourage strong dialogue and close co-operation amongst the family of Guiding in the whole of Ireland
- To facilitate participation at international events and activities
- To work towards a single movement

The mission statement of the Irish Girl Guides Irish Girl Guides is to enable girls and young women to develop to their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world.
Through a variety of activities girls are encouraged to:
- Grow in self confidence and develop leadership skills
- Develop a knowledge and understanding of spiritual values in their daily lives
- Learn practical indoor and outdoor skills
- Participate in the international aspects of Guiding
- Behave responsibly in upholding the laws of the country
- Be aware of and care for the needs of others
Appreciate and use environmental resources responsibly
The mission statement of the Catholic Guides of Ireland is to provide a challenging Guiding Programme in a safe environment to enable girls and young women to develop their full potential.
CGI endeavours to:
- Make available a challenging Guiding Programme which will meet the needs of as many girls and young women as possible in order that they may become responsible citizens at community, national and world level
- Promote awareness of the concept of Guiding within society
- Recruit, train and develop adults to become competent leaders
- Create a safe environment for all members within the association
- Ensure the development of effective organisational structures which will meet the aims of the association
